A Weekend of Craft Markets

The Good and The Bad

Crumbs and Sparkles Stall Set up at Ware Priory

Get ready to party like a crafting rockstar!

Friday, July 19th from 6 pm to 9 pm at Ware Priory in Herts for an event with Folk and Bespoke

So, I decided to dip my toes into the craft fair world with Katy, Folk, and Bespoke. Let me tell you, it was a wild ride! We were surrounded by so much creativity that I think my brain might have exploded (in a good way, of course). Katy's enthusiasm was infectious, and the whole vibe was so chill that I almost forgot I was there to sell stuff.

If you're an artisan looking to showcase your work, you gotta check out Folk and Bespoke. They're like the fairy godmothers of craft fairs, making magic happen for all us creative souls. Click here for more info and get ready to unleash your inner crafting superstar!

So there I was, swapping earring studs like a jewellery ninja for this customer. She sees my bee design and is all abuzz about it, but wants a different style. Cue the custom order magic! We whipped up a special pair faster than you can say "bee-utiful studs." The end result? One happy customer and me doing a victory dance that would make Beyoncé proud!

Stall Set Up at Bedford River Festival

20th & 21st July at Bedford River Festival

Festival Fun and Fiascos!

The River Festival in Bedford was a whirlwind of chaos and charm, attracting more people than a clown car at a circus. Here's a peek at the rollercoaster ride that was my weekend:

Day 1: Soggy Stalls and Network Nonsense

  • 250,000 visitors descended upon Bedford, ready to party like it's 1999.

  • My husband became my trusty sidekick, navigating the madness with the grace of a swan on a water slide.

  • As the sun shone down, vendors prayed for sales like kids wishing for extra dessert.

  • Phone networks decided to take a siesta, leaving traders in a digital desert without a credit card oasis.

  • Lesson learned: Cash is king at festivals – plastic is about as useful as a chocolate teapot in a heatwave.

Day 2: Sales, Smiles, and Sweet Treats

  • Enthusiasm levels dipped lower than a limbo stick, but a sale to a repeat customer lifted my spirits higher than a helium balloon.

  • A network hiccup at lunchtime turned me into a transaction wizard, saving the day with my trusty work phone.

  • Helping out Mil's Cookies next door led to a cookie exchange that was sweeter than a sugar rush at a candy store.

  • Despite the hurdles, I managed to break even, make some moolah, and gain more followers than a cat video on social media.

So, here's to the highs, lows, and everything in between – because running a business is a bit like juggling flaming torches while riding a unicycle. Thanks to all the supporters who make my dream job feel less like work and more like a circus act!
